Wedding Pictures: Cake and Champagne

And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
           The moon,
           The moon!
They danced by the light of the moon.
After the wedding, we went to a beach rest area at Stone Lagoon to cut the cake and eat it too, along with champagne (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.)  Our cake was made by Ramone's Bakery in Arcata: white almond, with fresh raspberry and whipped cream filling, and butter frosting.  It had been quite a quandary to figure out how to keep it fresh during the breakfast and ceremony or pick it up in time; but Dorene Giacopini came through for us.  We picked up the cake on Sunday night and she talked the owners at the Lost Whale Inn, where she and Steve Wilson were staying, to keep the cake in their fridge overnight.  That was a very good thing, because as we soon discovered, the delicious cake had a tendency to melt very rapidly.
