Wedding Pictures:
Bridal German Farmer's Breakfast
(With real German farmers!)

I ain't gonna pay no dollar for no corn muffin that's mostly dough...

The whole wedding party had breakfast, or rather brunch, at Rolf's Park Cafe near Orick.  Rolf's is a very particular place (not all that good-looking from the outside either), and Rolf himself is a very particular man, but very nice and he sure can cook schnitzel (we're talking serious European chef, here.)  Some of the curious features include an unexplained fascination with Buckminster Fuller, geodesic structures, and bucky balls.  There is also a small sapling labelled "Future Drive-Through Tree", and a marker to Black Diamond.

That, my friends, is a "historic" story.  Apparently, someone unearthed bones in the sixties which turned out to be quite unusual.  An overeager scientist thought he had discovered a unique prehistoric fossil, which he promptly labelled the "Humboldt Mastodon."  Unfortunately, as long-time inhabitants of the area knew, these bones were only a few decades old; they were those of Black Diamond, a circus elephant who had died there (from malnutrition and exhaustion, alas) and been buried on the spot when the dingy traveling circus moved on.  So much for the mastodon.

Check the wedding outtakes for a couple of stories including making reservations at Rolf's, and encounters with the neighbourhood elks.

Nevertheless, we had a great and plentiful breakfast.

Note:
Just in case you're ever in the area and want to try Rolf's table (well worth it, breakfast, lunch or dinner) -- here is the address:

And that there is a picture of Rolf, just so you know him.
