TLACHTLI

Tlachtli player

The rules for Tlatchtli are quite simple - you may perform any maneuver on the ball that you may perform on an opposing powersuit.  Hitting the ball requires a successful roll against a difficulty of 15.  Successfully hitting the ball with a any strike or fight maneuver allows you to move the ball a number of hexes equal to the kills of the attack - if you hit the ball with a 3-kill attack you may move it up to three hexes in any direction you desire.

You may also shoot the ball.  In this case, however, there is a chance that the ball will not go where you want it to go.  Hitting the ball with a ranged attack requires a successful roll against a difficulty of 20.  If you successfully hit the ball, roll to see where it goes.  Roll 1d10.

Note that missiles may not target the ball.  The ball may not be destroyed.  If, through random movement, the ball moves off the Tlatchtli field, it immediately rebounds back onto the court.

Scoring a goal is a slightly different process.  In order to score a goal you must make a successful strike or fight maneuver against the ball with sufficient power to move the ball into the hex with the hoop in it.  Once this is done, you must make a successful Reflexes + Athletics roll to get the ball into the hoop.  The difficulty of this maneuver depends on the range from which you are making the shot.

You cannot attempt to make a goal from more than 3 hexes away from the hoop.
