STUN/SHOCK

Certain conditions or attacks may force a character to make a stun/shock
roll in order to stay conscious. In these cases he or shee must make
a 1d10 roll equal to or less than his/her Body statistic in order to remain
conscious. If the player fails, he or she will be unable to act until
he or she succeeds on a stun/shock roll. Certain attacks may give
negative modifiers to the stun/shock roll.
Conditions that call for a stun/shock roll are
-
Half damage - if you take over 1/2 your hit points to an area in
a single attack, you must make a stun/shock roll against the pain and shock
of the damage
-
Hits to the
head - any time your character takes damage to the head, he must make
a stun/shock roll
-
Knock-Out attacks - chops are a physical attack specifically designed
to knock characters out. When struck the character must make a stun/shock
roll in order to stay conscious. In addition, any blow with a club
or unpowered hand weapon MAY be converted into a knockout blow by taking
the appropriate modifiers.
The Net melee weapon can also make a form of Knockout Attack - see
description of the weapon for particulars.
Effects of a Stun/Shock condition are
-
The character immediately becomes Prone if not already Prone.
-
The character may take no action other than attempt to recover from being
stunned/shocked. A recovery roll is made during each of the character's
turns until the character succeeds. Making a recovery roll counts
as the character's entire turn (a character may perform no other actions
during a turn in which he makes a recovery roll).
