CHARACTER CREATION

A NOTE TO PLAYTESTERS
At the moment, the entire Spirit Warrior Empire campaign is very much an experiment.  For this reason, I REALLY need to have all the city-states represented in the party (at least all of those currently available - Quetzaltepec and the Tolteca being, for now, exceptions).  Consequently, I am allowing only one player from each city-state until such time as all the city-states are taken.  For now, the player roster is as follows:

The Hummingbird Warriors - are represented by Jenifer Ramsey
The Jaguar Warriors - are represented by Shawn Connor
The Death Messengers- are no longer represented
The Way Bringers- are represented by Paul von Fischer
The Storm Warriors - are represented by Doug Dawson
The Dog People - are represented by Sophie Lagacé
The Feathered Serpents - are not currently available

The Game system being used for Spirit Warrior Empire is a modified version of MEKTON II, published by R. Talsorian games.  It is not necessary to own the system in order to play.  For a very brief explanation of how Characteristics and Skills work in the Mekton II system, go here.

Player Characters are all warriors of Yoali Ehecatl, tithed by their respective city-states as part of an agreement between Yoali Ehecatl and the others of the Huitznahua.  Known as the Night Wardens,  they are an elite force of scouts similar in function to the Rangers or SAS of the modern world.  In theory they serve the Spirit Warrior Empire above any loyalty to their own city state or deity.  The truth of the matter is a bit more complex than that, since it cannot be truly determined where the loyalty of any individual Night Warden may lie.

The character creation process follows six simple steps, as detailed below.

STEP I:  DETERMINE WHAT CITY-STATE YOU ARE FROM
There are currently six City States that players can be from.  Each has distinct advantages.  Go to the section on Tamoachan to read background on them.

STEP II:  DETERMINE YOUR CHARACTERISTIC POINTS
In order to do this, go to Irony Games secure dice roller and have it roll seven 10-sided dice.  This is the number of points that you have to spend on your characteristics.  Note that if the total of your roll is lower than 36 you may roll again.  Be sure to have the results of the roll sent directly to my e-mail address.  I will not accept rolls that cannot be verified through the secure dice server, or which are not e-mailed directly to me from Irony Games.  Sorry for the paranoia - others who have come before you have caused it.

STEP III:  DISTRIBUTE YOUR CHARACTER POINTS
You may distribute your character points among your characteristics as you see fit save that you must have a SPIRIT characteristic of at least 5 (except as noted under specific City States descriptions).

STEP IV:  PURCHASE SKILLS
Look over the list of skills and spend points to purchase them.  Characters all begin with a base of 21 points to spend for skills.

STEP V:  CHOOSE YOUR DEITY
Choose whether you will give your ultimate loyalty to your city-state's patron deity or to Yoali Ehecatl.  Chichimeca need not make this choice, as their loyalty is always to the Chichimeca, rather than to any particular deity.

STEP VI:  SUBMIT YOUR CHARACTER TO THE GM
