A NOTE TO PLAYTESTERS

Thanks to all the original playtesters for their efforts at helping me learn how to run an on-line game with a strong tactical component.  You will find your reward below, in the form of extra points with which to create your characters.

The Game system being used for Spirit Warrior Empire is a modified version of Jovian Chronicles, a game which uses the Silhouette system, published by Dream Pod 9.  It is not necessary to own the system in order to play.  For a very brief explanation of how Attributes and Skills work in the Silhouette system used in all Dream Pod 9's games, go here.

Player Characters are all warriors of Yoali Ehecatl, tithed by their respective city-states as part of an agreement between Yoali Ehecatl and the others of the Huitznahua.  Known as the Night Wardens, they are an elite force of scouts similar in function to the Rangers or SAS of the modern world.  In theory they serve the Spirit Warrior Empire above any loyalty to their own city state or deity.  The truth of the matter is a bit more complex than that, since it cannot be truly determined where the loyalty of any individual Night Warden may lie.

The character creation process follows five simple steps, as detailed below.  Here is an Excel 97 spreadsheet you can download to help with the process.

STEP I: DETERMINE WHAT CITY-STATE YOU ARE FROM

There are currently six City States that players can be from.  Each has distinct advantages.  Go to the section on Tamoachan to read background on them.  Each city has a specific Attribute advantage and Skill advantage.

STEP IV:  CHOOSE YOUR DEITY

Choose whether you will give your ultimate loyalty to your city-state's patron deity or to Yoali Ehecatl.  Chichimeca need not make this choice, as their loyalty is always to the Chichimeca, rather than to any particular deity.
