Sample Accomplishments: Federal Facility Cleanup
- Combined multiple data sources such as legacy water quality data, geologic maps, aerial photos, and long-term monitoring data, creating the most extensive inventory of contaminated floodplain sediment to date for a major CERCLA site, a large watershed contaminated by 100 years of mining activities.
- Reviewed and commented on draft Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) reports for various facilities on behalf of agencies and stakeholders, identifying weaknesses and data gaps.
- Prepared sampling work plans, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), health and safety plans, and sampling and analysis reports. Reviewed and managed environmental data for biota, soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, and building material samples to assess contamination at federal facilities.
- Led the preparation of four Strategic Project Implementation Plans (SPIPs) under the U.S. Department of Defense's Native American Lands Environmental Mitigation Program (NALEMP), to address environmental impacts from past military activities on Native lands in several locations.
