Sample Accomplishments: Marketing and Communication
- Prepared proposals, qualification packages, project cut sheets, and tailored resumes. Created attractive and clear documents that won projects with new clients such as energy planning for a tribal government in Washington; a characterization and site investigation project for a former military installation in Alaska; a waste stream analysis in North Central Idaho; and several environmental permitting projects in the Pacific Northwest.
- Led the preparation of the winning proposal for a $3.5 million dollar contract with the Department of Commerce's National Oceanic Atmospheric and Administration (NOAA). This Technical Support Services for Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Sites contract includes performing various tasks to identify and assess the risks to coastal natural resources from hazardous waste sites and to develop cost-effective strategies that will minimize those risks.
- Interacted respectfully and comfortably with people of widely different cultures and backgrounds. Worked closely with two dozen different Native American tribes and tribal organizations, becoming familiar with the cultural cues and integrating these into our day-to-day exchanges.
- Facilitated stakeholder meetings and public review meetings, providing technical support to help build consensus. Developed public outreach support materials such as presentations, fact sheets, and posters.
- Prepared project-specific Web guides for CERCLA and Brownfield sites on behalf of NOAA; compiled sampling information and field observations and organized this information into attractive and easily navigated Web guides. For examples, see the Writing Samples section.
