The
Salon: Antechamber
Good day, Madam, Sir; Their Graces will be delighted to see you.
Please allow me to take your cloaks. Perhaps Madam would like to
retire to the Boudoir?
And would you care to visit the Smoking
Room, Sir?
When you are ready, feel free to proceed to the Dining
Room. And, as always, you are welcome to pursue your
research in the Ducal
Library.
The Boudoir contain rules of etiquette, particularly
oriented towards female characters, fashion notes, and some samples of
(sometimes lurid) Victorian readings.
The Smoking Room is the gentlemen's equivalent
of the above, offering etiquette and fashion tips for men. It is
still fairly sketchy.
The Library is by far the most complete section.
It contains information on the topics of Faerie, Sorcery, Sorcerous Engines,
Science and Technology, Military History, and the History of Noble Families.
The Dining Room has some items on food, gossip,
and going out.

Another Steampunk View:
-
Eileen Gunn's The
Difference Dictionary - a page dedicated to tidbits and trivia from
William Gibson and Bruce Sterling's The Difference Engine.
The novel was a darker view of steampunk Victoriana than Castle F's. While
I didn't enjoy it as much as previous books from these authors, it is still
an interesting piece, and Ms. Gunn's dictionary is very instructive as
well as enjoyable.
