Passengers of the Airship
Parsifal:
-
Seton Jalgar, Author: A novelist of
rising popularity and formerly a reporter, Seton comes from Austria, and
until lately made his home in Wien. He sports mud red-brown hair,
a moustache, and his eyes are a mild blue-green.
-
Timur Kapkin: Well-tanned, with a prominent,
well-kept waxed mustache, and lots of small wrinkles around the corners
of his eyes, Kapkin is dressed in a conservative suit of light gray with
white pin-stripes, a dark gray bowler hat, and well-shined italian leather
shoes.
-
Markus Kohl, Stage Magician: Half a
head shorter than your average Europan, with wavy blonde hair. Skinny
and wiry, The Astounding Markus always has a glint in his eye. Markus
is always dressed in stylish charcoal suits. When not performing,
he offsets his clothes with cool lemon accessories.
-
Kuromizu Ketsuke Osada, Dragon Lady: a
tall (1m80, or almost 6'), slender young woman; her hair is long and black
as the purest jet, either drawn tightly into a very long pony tail reaching
her slim waist, or piled up in an elegant knot held by combs of ivory and
tortoise-shell. Her eyes are also black as night, so dark that no
pupil can be seen. She dresses either in traditional upper-class
Japanese garb, or in Worth gowns.
-
Catherine Palmer, Adventuress: tall
(1m75, or 5'9"), slim and very attractive, with brown hair and green eyes,
dressed fashionably. She comes from London, but has also lived in
Switzerland and in Paris, and so speaks fluent French.
-
Clara Wieck Schumann, musician: a beautiful
woman in her early fifties, and foremost pianist in New Europa, widow of
composer Robert Schumann. Her hair is still mostly dark brown, despite
the gray filigree in it, and her complexion is pale. Her features
are delicate and sensitive, and her eyes hold a certain sadness.
-
Elisabeth Schumann, débutante and violinist:
a slight young girl in her mid-teens. There can be little doubt that
she is Clara Schumann's daughter, for her features are very similar.
-
Vizier Esrar Giray Sefìk, special ambassador
for the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire: a
tall and thin man with skin the colour of burnished oak, with dark eyes
and a well-trimmed black beard. He wears rich Ottoman clothing of
red brocade, with gold tracery and yellow feathers. (Currently played
by Lurker Dave Handy).
-
Lord Árdghal Cianán Toirdhealbhach,
Daoine Sidhe Lord: Tall, slender, dressed like a British dandy,
with hair the pale colour of platinum, a nearly metallic tone a bit warmer
than silver, which no human can approach by nature or craft. His
eyes are a deep, pupil-less blue, and the effect is made slightly incongruous
by the monocle he wears. Speaks with an Irish accent.
-
Lucien Trichepot, confidence man for the Comtessa
de Genere: a nondescript little man, about 1m73 (5'8"), of
slight build, sporting a well-waxed dark brown mustache. He is wearing
good quality travel clothes, in sensible dark gray, a greatcoat, and a
bowler hat.
-
Baron Oktav von Strolz-Mader, Austrian ambassador
in Brussels: portly man in his late fifties with an air of authority,
wearing an extravagant dress uniform of the Austrian army. His face
is ruddy, sporting outrageous sideburns of the type that started going
out of style about ten years ago, and his pale blue eyes twinkle with good
humour.
-
Hauptman (Captain) Fredrick von Weissenbach,
aide-de-camp to baron von Strolz-Mader: tall and thin, with a soft
voice; never volunteers any comments, limiting himself to answering direct
questions. He wears a uniform with many decorations for valour.
-
Abdelhassìb Zàhed, secretary
to vizier Sefìk: a man of average human height, perhaps 1m75
(5'9" or so); his beard is curly, kept somewhat longer than his master's,
and peppered with gray. His lavishly elegant Ottoman clothing is
carefully tailored to draw attention away from a stomach somewhat thicker
than perfection; he keeps to sober but elegant silks in dark blue tones,
embellished with silver trimming.
Crew of the Airship Parsifal:
-
Captain Rolf von Vietinghoff, Koeniglich
Bayerisch Aerokriegsmarine, 1st Aerotransport Division, Captain of the
Parsifal.He
sports a brown beard with silver threads running through it, and under
it his face is lean and sharp. His piercing eyes and firm handshake
are those of a man of action.
-
Leutnant Wilhelm von Locke, Koeniglich Bayerisch
Aerokriegsmarine, 1st Aerotransport Division, First Officer of the Parsifal:
a dapper young man of about thirty, with sandy blond hair, a well trimmed
beard, and laughing blue eyes. He wears his dashing uniform with
great panache, with the ribbons of several decorations on his chest.

-
Fraü Patrizia Ehrenburg, Koeniglich Bayerisch
Aerokriegsmarine, 1st Aerotransport Division, Sorcerous Security Officer
on the Parsifal. Rather
petite, no more than 1m60 (5'3") and of slight build; she is perhaps forty-five
years old, but her blond hair, piled up to add to her height, does not
show a trace of grey, and her figure is excellent. She wears the
uniform of the Royal Bavarian Aeronavy - and wears it well. She is
in charge of all thaumic security measures for the Parsifal.
Fraü Ehrenburg also teaches Military Sorcery at the Royal Military
Academy of Munich.
-
Dierck Birnbaum, Purser of the Parsifal:
A pleasant, tall and slightly portly man in his mid-forties, close-shaven
except for spectacular sideburns, with thinning blonde hair receding rapidly
from his forehead. He wears little round gold-rim glasses far down
his nose to read, but usually removes them to speak to female passengers.
