Juan Ernesto Inglesias de Silva
What Juan doesn't do is anything involving electronics. He's a very sensitive boy, and his nervous system will pitch a fit if anything like an implant or simsense (even through trodes) gets anywhere near him. What he does do is magic. He's a hermetic mage who specializes in Summoning, which takes care of a lot of stuff right there. He also has a good complement of spells.
He grew up in Aztlan, attending Jesuit schools but falling out of Catholicism. He went to work for Aztechnology as a wage-mage, until he got to the blood magic when he yakked. After (delicately) refusing to engage in blood rituals, he got shunted into a corner and decided to get out before he got sacrificed. As a result, he is still wanted by Aztechnology. His current contact in Aztlan is one of his old Jesuit teachers, Father Julian Brandenburg, a local priest seriously into Liberation Theology and social justice. Father Julian is also a mage, specializing in healing and mental magics. Juan is not exactly heroic — yet. Most of his life he has been sheltered, pampered, and a little spoiled. Escaping, depending on others and his own resources, has started to open his eyes. [top] |
