- David "Orca-Wolf" Path-on-the-Peaks
- A young Makah man, graduate of medicine at the University of Washington, and now a Bear shaman. Also sometimes accused of being a mass murderer.
- Cora Open-Hand Sawyer
- A young Makah woman, a medtech by training and now a Raven shaman. Generally a pain in the ass.
- Jason "Gnomenklature" White
- A Dwarven decker and security consultant, who tried double-dipping when he was working for what turned out to be Aztechnology subsidiaries. Now hiding, recruited by Dunkelzahn, and working on the Trauma Team.
- Gideon Goesforbroke
- Human male fixer and Face; father American Indian, mother Phillipino/Italian. In this for the cold hard cash.
- Amanda "Misery Chick" Swift
- Human female, techie and jack of all trades. She was hired for the Universal Omnitech run, but stayed on afterwards.

- Elven female mage, currently helping out the group in Germany.

Trauma Team Auxiliaries
- Arco
- Male-to-female cross-dressing Orc; former administrative assistant in the Human Resources Department of Redmond Community Hospital. Suffered a head wound and severe trauma during the Astral Plague outbreak. Now works for the Trauma Team.
- Michael Garrett O'Halloran (Garrett)
- Short (5'1") human-looking male Ogre (Ork) with a flat broad face, an upturned nose and a broad chin. A proficient street samurai who runs with Susan Hands-as-Wings, hired by Dunkelzahn. He helped spring out David and Cora at the hospital, then escorted Cora when she had to go back in. Currently working as muscle for the Trauma Team.

- Female Dwarf, dark-haired, dressed in coveralls. She works with Garrett and was the "wheels" hired by Dunkelzahn as part of the raid to find the cure for the VITAS3/Astral Plague outbreak. Currently working as wheels for the Trauma Team.

- Director of Human Resources. Female Dwarf, characteristically crabby. Suffered enough trauma to cause a complete breakdown during the Astral Plague outbreak.

- Nurse. Human female, lare sweaty woman. Now working at David's street clinic.
- Barbara Barbarossa
- Nurse. Female Troll, very competent. Now working at David's street clinic.
- Kate Bledsoe
- Administrative assistant to Nigel Firth. Smashing blonde; she appears to be the one truly in charge. Further developments during the Astral Plague outbreak suggest that she may be a demon (succubus?), and that there may be more like her.
- Bugsworth
- Dr. McCoy's bodyguard. Human male, very large.
- Erica
- Nurse. Human female, good-looking little redhead.
- Nigel Firth
- Director of Hospital Administration. Effeminate man with a British accent. Committed suicide(?) after Dr. McCoy and Kate Bledsoe unleashed the Astral Plague.
- Kyle
- Human male; a security guard who got injured by a patient (Cynthia)'s angry relative (Cherry).
- Dr. Abe Lowitz
- Physician. Human male, competent.
- Dr. Andrea McClure
- Resident. Human female, recently posted, very reliable.
- Dr. Jonathan McCoy
- Director of Emergency Medicine. Human male who looks like a tri-vid soap star and seems to be wealthy. (He's the one they call Dr. Feelgood.) Recent information suggests that he may have been around for over 200 years, and is actually a demon.
- Peter
- Dwarven male with a serious on-the-job drug habit; janitor, but often seems to man the nurse station, despite his complete inadequacy for the task. Recently fired by David Path-on-the-Peaks, but he's now back on the mop. Killed during the VITAS3/Astral Plague outbreak.
- Saki "Pika-Pika" Sakai
- A street samurai who had just been offered the post of Director of Security at the Redmond Community Hospital. Recently slain by a Horror-possessed cyberized troll on a rampage.
- Gary Smith
- A very nondescript human medtech who hates metahumans and isn't real keen on Natives either. He's Awakened but it's not clear how, or even whether he realizes it. Now operates his own ambulance service, "Gary's Medical Services".
- Wayne Toppers
- Medical examiner, at least until recently. Discovered to be an undead servant of some sort of Elder Horror. Destroyed by David and Cora.
- Vicky Vale
- Head nurse. Female human; looks like a plump version of Nurse Ratched. Unhelpful and domineering.

- Human male. Street samurai who bought faulty, second-hand cyberware from a street doc; cured by David.
- Cynthia
- Little blonde girl. A patient who was brought in by Gary Smith and treated by Dr. McCoy and Nurse Vale, but seems to have disappeared from the records since. David and Cora believe she has since been possessed by a Horror.
- Cherry
- Cynthia's sister, a sixteen-year-old hooker with a heart of gold and a blade of steel. Well, she did have the blade, anyway. She was paid by Sharon Atkins to leave, but her partial remains were later identified by David and Cora in the basement morgue.

- Teenage human male, paraplegic and suffering from respiratory difficulties.

- Eric's rich mother, acerbic and demanding.

- A wealthy patient of Dr. McCoy's.

- Decker, hired by David and Cora for a small job based on Sonny D's recommendation. Gnomenklature's personal nemesis, or at least rival for the title of alpha geek.

- Male Ork, proprietor of Crusher 495 and underworld boss, well disposed towards David for his efforts to save Ork lives in the wake of the recent riot. Was affected by the Astral Plague, but cured by David.

- Commanding officer of Ironclad Security, recently placed in charge of security at Redmond Community Hospital.

- Human male Philippino, a relative of Gideon Goesforbroke on his mother's side. A ruthless and relatively efficient black marketeer with Seoulpa Rings connections, currently involved in the turf war against the Irish Mafia.

- Large Awakened human male who works for Dr. Raven.

- Elven male, looks like a young Elven Gandalf (or like the love-child of Gandalf and Galadriel). He's apparently going to be helping Cora and David train as shamans.

- Human male, captain of the Lone Star 316th SWAT unit. He publicly stated that Lone Star owed Dr. David Path-on-the-Peaks a favour for saving a few of their men's lives.

- Elven female, slicked back dark hair, 'runner, expensive-looking, heavily wired; worked with Misery Chick on a run or two a couple of years ago. She double-crossed the Trauma Team when setting up the Universal Omnitech run in Portland. Killed by Garett when she pulled a gun on Cora.

- Male human, smuggler, one of Gideon's contacts. Stiffed the Trauma Team out of 48,000 ¥ when driving them to Tir Tairngire, then set Elven smugglers against them.

- Human female, trid reporter.

- Dunkelzahn's assistant. Beautiful Elven female, dark-skinned and looking Eastern European.

- Tall (over 6 ft) human male, redhead, dresses in expensive street casuals. A Physical Adept, he was hired by Dunkelzahn to escort Cora when she had to go back to the Redmond Community Hospital during the VITAS3 outbreak.

- Human female, reporter for the Seattle Times-Post-Intelligencer. She's sniffing around the Astral events of August 8 and believes David is dirty.

- Amerindian human male dressed in fringed leather and nice street casuals. Shaman hired by Dunkelzahn to assist David in the astral quest to find the cure for the Astral Plague.

- Gorgeous female Elf decker hired by Dunkelzahn, who participated in the raid against SinTech and Dr. McCoy's VITAS3 plan by raiding the hospital's files.

- George Lodgepole
- Male human, age 48, Makah Tribe. George Lodgepole is David's mother's older brother. As such it was his responsibility to teach David about tribal history, lore, responsibilities, etc. The two were fairly close when David was growing up, but since he has gone off to college and George has taken on the mantle of tribal chief, they have not been in particularly close contact with one another. David still goes to him for advice on occasion, however, and George is the man who got David his scholarship.
- Emma Markishtum
- Female human in her late sixties, Makah Tribe. Shaman and Cora's teacher; tribal Elder. Markishtum teaches the old ways in Neah Bay. She has given some training to Cora in meditation, religion, and folklore, but did not initiate her to the higher shamanic rituals.

- David's mother, a police officer.

- Male Elven Prince, very high up in the Tir Tairngire, and involved in the Universal Omnitech R&D project as a board member.

- Human male; tall, blonde, and muscular. Sounds Irish. Church-sanctioned practitioner of magic and Templar; wields Amacadius, a large Relic Sword incorporating a nail of the True Cross.

- The malevolent entity (man?) who fought David to prevent him from finding a cure for the Astral Plague released by SinTech and Dr. McCoy.
- Many Tongues
- Despite his appearance as a human male child, he is probably something quite different. He guided David and Cora through their shamanic Initiation.
- Numara
- The woman standing at the entrance to the Bridge of Bones, whose singing has been keeping the darkness at bay since the end of the Fourth Age.
- Oobick
- Legendary shaman and ancestor of David and Cora's tribe.
- Sara Dooley
- Yound Englishwoman who stepped through a Gate at a party in 1847 and found herself in Sigil. She had been unable to find her way back since.
- Boren Greyshadow
- Male Dwarf, companion of Lando St.Vier. Speaks in a thick Scottish accent reminescent of Cunniculus the IX.

- Human male; possibly a sort of knight errant, he helped David and the Team through Rappan Athuk.
