The Role-Playing Addict's 12-Step Program
This is Jenifer's proposed 12-step program to help poor RPG addicts in their recovery -- or not.
- Step One: Find a group of gamers to game with.
- Step One(b) (optional): Marry a gamer.
- Step Two: Find a time and day everyone can get together.
- Step Three: Find a location that would allow the entire group to be in the same room at the same time.
- Step Four: Move location often due to unforeseen/strange circumstances.
- Step Five: Select a system to run.
- Step Six: Run a game in the system.
- Step Seven: Decide the system sucks and try to tweak it.
- Step Eight: In a fit of frustration, look at other systems.
- Step Nine: Decide to hell with it, you are going to make this system work.
- Step Ten: Players must crab about the system when it works against their characters.
- Step Eleven: All programs go to eleven.
- Step Twelve: Run the game until you or most of the other players hate the
game. Go back to Step One.
