Empathy: Leo can sometimes pick up people's emotions and tell if they are lying, etc. [Sometimes nods his head before someone speaks, tries to cheer sad people up.]
Spot Gaff-and-Grift Acts: Leo has a keen eye for the small giveaway details, born of professional experience with the art of misdirection and flim-flam artists. [Suddenly narrows his eyes from time to time.]
Leo
is desperately in love with female contortionist and dancer Serena Dandelion1.
The beautiful Serena performed in the Cirque du Soleil at the same time
Leo did, and he has been dreaming of forming a permanent act with her.
Serena seemed to enjoy Leo's company, and for a while he thought he had
the beginning of true romance. Alas, just as Leo had almost worked
up the courage to tell Serena about his feelings, she disappeared without
a trace.Leo speaks French, English, and can muddle along in a variety of roman languages: Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, etc. He can also recognise and respond to basic circus vocabulary in German and Russian. [e.g., "Your number is next," "Raise that elbow higher," "We have a lot of turkeys in the audience," etc.]
Forthcoming
(will be scanned). In the mean time, I'll use this picture of Pierre-Antoine
Dussouillez2. Leo is very
tall and lanky: a little over 2 m tall (about 6'7"), and weighing approximately
(gulp!) 125 pounds. He has sandy blonde hair, brown eyes with gold
flecks, and fair skin with a few freckles. His accent is a triffle odd.
It sounds vaguely northern European, but is hard to pin down; the accentuation
of syllables is French-like, but without the hard rolled R's.
Juggling
pins, balls, clubs, diabolos, yoyos, beanbags, frisbee, torches, fire devil-sticks
(light at both ends), small can of gasoline (~ 1 pint), colourful performing
costume, gloves, make-up, green and orange wig, red clown nose (also is
a horn), clown shoes3, wire rope with metal
hooks (for tight-rope walking), handcuffs, throwing knives (flashy, decorative
style for circus performance), small baby bottle, baby formula, very small
teddy bear, a red satin slipper once worn by Serena Dandelion. All
in one handy-dandy duffelbag. And, oh yeah, a toothbrush and shaving
kit, two changes of underwear, three pairs of socks, a couple of t-shirts,
a floppy hat, and a spare pair of slack pants with rainbow suspenders.
If he gets into some money on Al Amarja, his first purchase will probably be a unicycle...
