Alien Characters: Traits and Character Creation

Ur-Obun
Ur-Ukar
Vorox
Other Races

Ur-Obun

The Obun are regarded with awe by the human populace; though they are seen as inferior, they get treated the best by the Imperial government and the advice of the Obun is listened to. The Obun are natural occultists, most have some talent, though many of them never develop that talent to any great degree. Those that are found to have no talent at all however, neither Psionics nor Theurgy, are looked on with great pity.

Cost: 0 HP
Trait: + 1 Panache (starting max 4, max 6)
Brawn has a maximum of 4, starting max of 3
Occult: 10 HP to buy a Minor Talent, (see below), greater talents may be bought instead as normal. Those that forego this purchase are mildly ostracized from their society, and most humans will believe that they are just hiding their talent.

Minor Psionic Talent: Choose a single knack from a single Path, the Psychic may advance to rank 4, though he may not get the benefits from Mastery and is not considered even an Apprentice.

Minor Theurgy Rite: Choose a single Acolyte knack, the Theurgist may advance to Rank 4 but may not learn any other knacks, and does not gain additional abilities from mastery.

Ur-Ukar

The Ukar are more nimble than most, though they have less endurance than most other races. All Ukar are believed to be Psionic. Their people, who see it as a sign of cursed blood, look those that have no Psionic ability upon with disdain. Most humans will believe that they are lying and are actually hiding their talents.

Vorox

The Vorox are one of the strongest intelligent races. They can take a great deal of damage before going down. Unfortunately their predatory nature makes it difficult to think of too many things at a given time and often act rashly. Psionic talents are unknown among the Vorox, much to the relief of their Li Halan overlords. Those Vorox with the Noble advantage (Royal Caste) may purchase a poison claw.

Cost: 15 HP
Trait: +2 Brawn (starting Max 5, total max 7)
Wits (starting Max 2, Max 4)
+1 Fear
Occult: None, there are no known Vorox with occult abilities.
Other: Poison Claw: 5 Hero Points to Purchase the royal claw, with paralytic poison. Can only be bought by characters who took the Noble advantage. The Claw does 2k2 damage, and a successful hit injects a paralytic poison that renders the target immobile. The target rolls Brawn vs. 25, every 5 points of failure reduces the number of dice in action pools by one (it does not affect kept dice).
