NEMO - The Man of a Thousand Masks

by Madeleine Eid

Once upon a time, Nemo had a proper name.  Once he had a wife and children.
Then his wife's relations made him an offer he couldn't refuse.  When he did,
they killed his son in front of his eyes.  He refused again.  That time they
killed his wife.  He refused again - and his other children were taken from
him.  Now he who once had a name of his own carries a thousand names not his
own.  He has been nameless for so long he doesn't remember whether Veiled Mask
was really his wife or whether she was the wife of one of his identities.

Now he is the man of a thousand identities - people see him and say, "Oh, yes,
that's - oh, what's his name - it's right on the tip of my tongue."  He can
walk into most places in Everway and listen to all he hears and watch all he
sees.  Then he returns to Veiled Mask's brother and tells him all he heard and
saw.  Now his memory is faltering - so much that he now loses himself in the
fractured reflections that his identity has now become.

Virtue:  Trickery - Deceit.  Nemo is the man of a thousand faces - never
recognised, but always known.
Flaw:  The Lion reversed - Weakness.  Nemo is nearing the end of his life.
His memory and to a lesser extent, his physical self is deteriorating.
Fate:  The Creator - Abandonment/Nuture.  If he becomes useless, will the
Masks abandon him or take care of him in his declining years?

Earth: 2  Thick skin
Air: 2  Trained memory
Water: 2  Stealth
Fire: 2  Avoids attacks

Power:  Thousand Faces (3 pts).
Nemo has the ability to seem like anybody - he is always known, but never
recognised.  He can go virtually anywhere except places with magical
protections.  Anyone who sees him will assume that he's part of the human
furniture of the place - a servant, a messenger, a clerk etc.  No one will
remember his name, but will know that he has a perfect right to be where he is."
