In keeping with the style of Everway, the Chamber of the Four Elements is essentially a large, single room. Those desiring privacy may separate off portions of the room using movable partitions. Sleeping mats are rolled up and stored in a closed when not in use, as are the partitions. A large, sliding curtain separates the portion of the room with the bath from the rest of the Chamber. This curtain is normally pulled back unless someone needs to use the facilities. Additionally, there are separate toilet facilities down the hall, for times when the chamber is in full use.
Furniture consists of low tables with cushions for people to sit on. There are no chairs. A single brazier is always lit within the room, and there are additional braziers available for nights when it is cold. Temperature within the fountain and pond can be regulated, and the water can be rapidly drained so that the pond may be used as a bath. As the pond is relatively large compared to a bathtub, it takes about 45 minutes to fill with hot water, so baths are frequently shared. It is also not unusual to simply drain the pond, wash (singly or in groups) using buckets to collect the water from the waterfall, then fill the pond and soak.
There are no provisions for food storage.
Food is delivered four times daily by the Library when party members are
in residence.
