G'Dorren Family Holdings

The G'Dorren Family of T'skrang lives primarily in the eastern part of the city.  Most of the communal residences are actually located out in the river itself, forcing visitors to G'Dorren to either swim or take a boat in order to make a house call.

Of the 116 members of the Family, around 50% work around the family compound, raising the children, guarding the eggs, fishing, and tending to underwater crops.  The remainder is divided between crew for the Foolish Venture, workers at the shipyard, and supervisors of the Building firm, with a small number of T'skrang employed in various local businesses as well.  Crew berths on the Foolish Venture are apportioned by the Lahala each year and are fiercely sought.

The G'Dorren own several of the more prosperous businesses in Erengazor, and also own a controlling share Foolish Ventures Entertainment, which operates the Foolish Venture.

The T'skrang of Family G'Dorren are represented on the Erengazor Council by the Lahala G'Dorren.  A non-adept, the Lahala is nevertheless very old and wise, and has twice the experience on the Council as any other member.

G'Dorren Marine Maintenance and Construction

House G'Dorren runs a small shipyard in Erengazor.  Though not sufficient to construct T'Skrang Riverboats on its own, it is more than sufficient to build fishing boats, barges, and river sailing vessels.  It can also provide service and routine maintenance on most vessels, and provide or manufacture needed parts.  There are usually a few boats from T'skrang communities up and down the river moored here at any time being repaired, refitted, or just repainted.

G'Dorren Building

The G'Dorren also operate the largest building construction firm in Erengazor, though the family mostly oversees operations and sees to importing materials for construction rather than doing the work themselves (they contract a large labor force to do that).

Foolish Ventures Entertainment

The G'Dorren operate a single riverboat, the Foolish Venture.  Rather than hauling cargo up and down the river, the Foolish Venture hauls entertainment, and many of the residents of Erengazor work part time on the Foolish Venture as entertainers, clowns, hawkers, etc.

Most maintenance of the Foolish Venture is handled at G'Dorren Marine, but major overhauls require the facilities of one of the major Houses, and House G'Dorren typically contract with House K'Tenshin for yearly repairs on the elemental fire steam engines and other jobs too big for the local shipyard.
