The Opening of the Kaer

In the fullness of time, as the magic levels on Barsaive begain to fall, and the Kaer was opened.  The T'skrang awoke from their long hibernation and immediately began work to renovate and refurbish the Tarrnarr.  They also proved invaluable in teaching kaer inhabitants about life in the surface world.  Once they had established themselves, individuals and groups were sent out to discover how their world had changed.  Contact was made with some of the native tribes of the Servos Jungle.  (It was discovered at this time that the Windling population of the Servos had largely perished during the Scourge, but that a large number of T'skrang who were not able to reach safety had been driven into the forest and had, over the last 200 years, taken up a tribal existence.)  All around Barsaive the same thing began to happen, and tentative contact was made with nearby locales such as Ayodhya and (later) K'Tenshin.  Trade began with other communities up and down the Serpent, and plans were even made to take the Tarrnar up river to learn what had become of Throall.  More ambitious plans for exploration were delayed, however, after a group of elven refugees arrived from the Blood Wood.  Their stores of the curse of the Blood Wood and the decisions made by the Queen gave many pause – what other mysteries and dangers might await in this new world?

Imagine the surprise of the town's inhabitants when a large ship fell out of the sky near the obsidiman liferock!

The Coming of the Trolls

The troolmoots of the Thunder mountains had not been idle since the end of the Scourge.  One group had managed to cobble together a Drakkar and had set out to explore Barasive.  But the Drakkar had proven to be magically unstable and impossible to steer, and they wound up crashing into the jungle, smack on top or Erengazor Liferock.  The trolls aboard were initially quite aggressive and hostile.
