(a.k.a. "Tuna", "Blubber Boy", "Fish Breath", "Shark Bait", etc.) Bob was born in Hudson Bay on Earth in 2167. His mother was, at the time, a GEO administrator and his father a CommCore reporter. He spent his childhood in the Hudson Bay region. Once he reached maturity, he surprised both his parents by volunteering for duty with the GEO military. He served with distinction in the GEO Peacekeepers for 8 years and toured the Mediterranean and the Pacific. During his years with the Blue Berets he came to understand exactly how much humans had done over their history to destroy the earth, and witnessed numerous cetaceans being corrupted as well. It was during this time that his desire for justice developed. In 2190 he applied, and was accepted, for a position in a new law enforcement organization then in the early planning stages on Poseidon - the Native Patrol. He was shipped out to Poseidon in time to take a position as a Lieutenant in the Ecological Crimes division of the New Hawaii Native Patrol, rising to the rank of Captain in 2196. If service in the Blue Berets on earth had been difficult for Bob, his time in New Hawaii was even worse. The Native Patrol was chronically undefended and undermanned. So far from Haven GEO presence was scarce, and there was frequently no backup to call in when it hit the fan. He came to appreciate his native officers, both human and cetacean, for their knowledge, creative solutions, and philosophy. In 2192 he first met Rapanui Sinne. In 2198 the Ecological Crimes division was responsible for one of the largest eco-crime busts in Poseidon's history when the NIS was caught running a sizable unregistered and illegal Long John harvesting operation. Though many parts of the case are still in litigation two years later the case has already cost the company over 470,000,000 cr in fines, damages, and reparations. Bounties from the bust made several of the arresting officers, including Bob, relatively wealthy. They also generated enough trouble from the NIS that the GEO relocated Bob back to Haven and stuck him (or his remote at least) behind a desk. Not wanting to ride herd on comcore reports and pencil sharpeners for the remainder of his career, Bob resigned his commission in the Native Patrol. Some of the money he had earned went to help bring his family from earth to Poseidon, and the rest was sunk into Sinne-Bob Detective Agency. Bob is a member of speak/do/far/body/water/same, also known as the Cet-Tel pod. |
