The Iberian Landscape

Here is a bit of information about Iberia, and particularly about the southern portion, Andalucia.  The Christian forces have recaptured the northern regions of Iberia and the Reconquista is currently in full swing.  The Christian are now strong in the kingdoms of Galicia and Leon in the northwest, Catalonia in the north, Castile and Navarre in the central North, Aragon in the northeast, and Asturias (a region which was never conquered by the Moors.)  Andalucia in the south is still under the control of the Almohad Dynasty.

Covenants

There are ten covenants in Iberia, including the following (and a few more).

• Barcelona: A Jerbiton covenant with strict rules about interactions with mortals.  There are four Jerbiton Magi in residence.
• Castrum Silvestrus: A mixed covenant near the three-way border of Castille, Navarre and Aragon.
• Duresca: A covenant formed of seven House Guernicus members, near Santiago de Compostella in northwest Iberia.
• Estancia-es-Karida: A mixed "roman" covenant housing one Jerbiton, three Criamon, and four Ex Miscellanea Magi, as well as a few non-Hermetic wizards.
• Jaferiya: An all Flambeau covenant in southern Leon, near the village of Tanames, with eight Magi in residence.
• Las Ermitas: Our previous covenant in the Sierra Morena north of Qurtuba.
• Picos de Europa: a mixed House Bjornaer/House Merinita covenant located in the mountains north of Leon.  There are currently 5 House Bjornar and 4 House Merinita Magi in residence.
