Allende,
only to discover he has been captured by Reis and turned over to Prince
Vincenzo
Caligari. She sails back to Vodacce, frees Allende, is recaptured

and
goes to find Ruin in the "Undying Swamp". Upon returning to
Freiburg,
she once again joins up with her friends and cousins as they hunt down
the
drachen, dispose of the treasure, and prevent the forces of Pösen
and
Heilgründ from invading Freiburg. New orders from the
Admiralty

Gordos
by the weather. Then Helena, a young woman who helped them
capture the

been
captured by the Montaignes and is going to be executed. The
heroes rescue
Ramon, then get back to Villa de los Gordos to find theMaris Stella
has returned to fetch them. In San Augustin, Admiral Enrique
Orduño
charges Constanza with finding the pirate Philippe Gosse, returned
after
twenty years of absence to attack trade vessels near
Théah.
The Maris Stella sails out to patrol the trade routes south of
Castille, and eventually finds the Uncharted Course. The
arrival
of the Crimson Roger breaks the standoff. The Maris
Stella
and the Uncharted Course plunge into a fog bank to escape the Crimson
Roger. Constanza directs her vessel towards an unseen coast,
slipping
into a cove, and the heroes suddenly find themselves near the fabled
Bryn
Bresail. There, they perform a service for the Queen of the Sky
and
are rewarded with various favours and a quest to seek the
Nibelungen.
They return to the Maris Stella in the middle of the fight with
Reis,
when Gosse's Unchartered Course appears and forces Reis to
retreat.

household is attaked by walking dead in the middle of the night while
the
heroes are his guests. The undead Thomas tries to kill Philip,
but is
put down by Constanza. Philip Gosse's research reveals that de
Méchant
is using a powerful Vesten artefact; the Unchartered Course
drops
the heroes off in Castille then leaves for Kirk. The heroes learn
something
of the artefact, the Spear of the West Wind, but tangle with the
Inquisition
again. They flee with a bit of help from Admiral Enrique
Orduño,
and head for Kirk.
- Quartus – sailing around Avalon,
the heroes tangle with Meryth again, then reach Kirk. After a
failed
ambush by Vesten against Constanza, they rejoin with the Unchartered
Course
and head northeast, looking for the Spear of the West Wind. The
Black
Freighter attacks the Unchartered Course and massacres most of
its
crew, carrying Melinda Gosse off. The Maris Stella
rescues the
survivors and chases the Black Freighter, chased in turn by the
Crimson
Roger and the Revensj.
Robert de Méchant taunts Gosse
and the heroes, and they have to climb the Spear, a monstrously high
tower,
to rescue Melinda in epic battle. They destroy the Spear and flee
to Freiburg, where they send a message to the Nibelungen. They
meet with several old acquaintances, including Wilma Probst, Didi,
Allende, Cléo Bellini, Jacques Lévesque d'Aur,
Thérèse Rois et Reines

right arm. The heroes return to Castille and are pardoned by
Verdugo, who asks Lucas to take his father's place.
- Julius – After a harrowing trip through the Selva de
Fendes,
the heroes reach Paix, then Charouse, on a diplomatic mission to

Montaigne crown. Prince Javier reveals himself to the heroes, but
Gallegos Province announces its secession and the Grijalva family
produces yet another candidate to the throne, Doña Sara Yanez de
Grijalva, who is revealed as none other than Melisandre de Ramirez and
rapidly becomes a favourite. In the end, all dissenting parties
are rallied when Javier and Sara agree to rule as king and queen, and
the Grijalva family produces proof that the Inquisition has been
secretly using Bargainer magic in the form of a Blood sorcery that
allows them to read minds. The new monarchs issue a warrant for the
arrest of Cardinal Verdugo and his Knight Inquisitors, but Verdugo
commits suicide and the Knight Inquisitors have disappeared.

by Derwiddon to visit the Queen of the Sky again. They then
pursue the Lucas Changeling in the Highlands and meet with Clan
MacEachern, but fail to reach an agreement. An encounter with
Meryth shows that the powerful child is herself being manipulated by
the Queen of the Sea and perhaps others. After months of rioting in
Montaigne, l'Empereur flees Charouse.
- Octavus
– Returning to Canguine, the Heroes free the Domae with the help of the
Constructs and discover a decoy of the Grail. They seek the

with the Fleishwulf which leaves Lucacito a wooden carving in the
monster's possession. Second attempted meeting of the

tribulations Dons Juan and Ferdinand manage to rescue Lucacito from the
Fleishwulf.

under the guise of "civic renovation" and have grossly overcharged for
