These are some of the strange sites visited by our heroes during the campaign. "Syrneth" is a catch-all term; the builders of those sites may have been (and probably were) from completely different races, and some may not have been "Syrneth", strictly speaking. Some may not even have been artificially created (e.g., La Cámara del Fuego Sagrado), or may be simply of human origin but using extraordinary materials (e.g., Bone Bridge, Heart of Drachen Cathedral).
Catacombs of Charouse (Montaigne): The ancient catacombs that sprawl under Charouse have not been fully explored. They are believed to be of Syrneth origin.Ile de la Bête (Western Isles): The "Isle of the Beast" is a Syrneth site around 700 nautical miles off the Castillian coast. Surrounded by a permanent blockade, it is used by the Montaigne noblesse as a private hunting resort. Originally discovered by a Montaigne ship seeking a new route to Cathay. A sort of force field can be activated to protect the entrance of the Syrneth towers ringing the island.
Syrneth Star Device (Vodacce): The location of a Syrneth machine similar to that of l'Ile de la Bête, but larger, in the marshy area of Villanova province in eastern Vodacce. The device is built underground, and is activated by the use of two aether compasses when certain constellations in the night sky are in the right position. The proportions of the entire site are strange, built for beings much taller and thinner than humans.
La Cámara del Fuego Sagrado (Castille): In the hills of La Sierra de Hierro is the Chamber of the Holy Flame where a spiralling column of supernatural flame stands, ever-burning. The "fire" does not consume as normal fire, but can destroy sorcery.
Claw Island (Western Isles): A volcanic island with a Syrneth site carved deep in the lava-filled interior of the volcano. The heroes found a strange claw-like gauntlet there, which Juan still wears since once donned, it can't be taken off again.
Tunnels of Caligari Island (Vodacce): Prince Vincenzo Caligari's palace on Caligari Island is built over a series of tunnels which resemble the Catacombs of Charouse in their construction. They were later revealed to contain the Sixth Switch used to raise Cabora.
The Bone Bridge (Eisen): Large crossing over the Rostrom river west of Freiburg, constructed from the skeleton of a fallen drachen.
Wachturm (Eisen): The "Watchtower" in the centre of Freiburg, from which Trägue in theory runs the city. The enormous Syrneth construction is built from drachen bones and has two permanent Porté gateways granting access to the top floors.
Heart of the Drachen Cathedral (Eisen): Fourteenth century church in Freiburg built around the ribcage of a drachen skeleton, a golden cross sitting on top of the raised tail.
Unsterblich Sümpf (Eisen): The "Undying Swamp" is a large marsh area south of Gottkirchen that has become infested with a number of strange creatures including a large white snake, the Verschlingen. It appeared about eighty years ago following a change in river course, but the abnormal, unholy creatures that have crawled out of it are far more than simple marsh dwellers. Constanza went there to find Ruin.
Bryn Bresail (Avalon/High seas): The fabled land of the Sidhe, who see no difference between it and Avalon. The heroes took refuge there while hunted by Reis, and performed a service for the Queen of the Sky. They were rewarded by various favours and by a quest to seek the Nibelungen.
The Spear of the West Wind (the Trade Sea): A small island northest of Vestenmannvnjar Islands from which emerged an impossibly tall and slender spire reaching past the clouds. It was reputed to be a powerful Vesten artefact leftover from the War of the Gods, granting control over the weather, command of the undead, and the ability to see anywhere over the sea. Robert de Méchant, captain of the Black Freighter, controlled the spire but the heroes destroyed it.
The Seventh Sea: The heroes involuntarily crossed from the Trade Sea to the mysterious Seventh Sea in Quartus 1669. The crossing was accompanied by spectacular displays of St. Elmo's Fire, the waters turned silver, the sky was white, and the stars were black and forming unfamiliar constellations. When they emerged from it, the heroes found themselves south of the Mirror Sea.
Island of the Fifth Switch (South of the Mirror Sea): An island completely devoid of any animal or plant life but covered in Syrneth ruins. The heroes were guided there (to their worry) by the construct calling itself Mumblety Peg, as they tried to rescue a kidnapped woman called Maggie Malone in order to fulfill the Vesten Oracle's Prophecy.
Pompius (Vodacce): a city of the Numan Empire which was buried in ancient times by a volcanic eruption. Alvaro Arciniega has discovered there blocks of congealed lava containing metals bones.
La Selva de Fendes (northern Castille): The "Forest of Fiends" into which few will venture and fewer return. It is reputed haunted, and the heroes' experience when they crossed it in late Sextus 1669 bears this. They were plagued by disappearnces, fleeing horses, deadfalls, nightmares, and wretched luck.
Syrneth Lighthouse (Avalon) A Syrneth relic in Canguine, built of bronze and twisted bone, which lit up at night and functioned as a lighthouse without any human intervention. In fact, no one ever found a way to get inside. It was unfortunately used for spare parts by the heroes in the repair of a Construct (Mumblety Peg) and a Domae in Octavus 1669, and no longer lights the Avalon coastline.
