The Chronicle:

Letter from the Castillan Admiralty to Constanza Aldana y Orduño, Primus 1669

From Admiral Enrique de Rivera y Orduño, commanding the Castillan Armada

To Captain Doña Constanza Esmeralda Mirian Aldana y Orduño, commanding His Majesty's Privateer the Maris Stella.

In the name of Theus, the Concilio de la Razon, the Crown of Castille, and the Admiral of the Fleet, you are hereby requested to undertake a mission for the Crown of Castille.

Specifically, you are to sail the Maris Stella, by the most expedient and speedy route, to a position near the city of La Reina del Mar along the coast of Castille currently occupied by Montaigne.  There you are to undertake the boarding and capture of a vessel bound for the port of La Reina del Mar, any vessel appropriate to the task which may be taken without undue loss of life and in a stealthy manner being deemed appropriate.  Once this vessel is captured, you are to turn command of the Maris Stella over to a trusted subordinate with orders to proceed to the port of Tarago for refitting.  You are to take a prize crew and, as a ruse de guerre, sail the captured vessel into the port of La Reina del Mar.  While maintaining this ruse, you are to enter the city and contact General Don Cristian Acedo de Lopez de Torres, who has requested assistance in a mission against the Montaignes.

At the conclusion of this mission, you are to proceed to the port city of Tarago, reassume command of the Maris Stella, and await further orders.

During this mission it is imperative that the Maris Stella not be unduly risked, and preserved for future operations.

May Theus grant you success in your undertaking, and watch over you.

Signed and authorized,

Margarita Orduño, for Admiral Enrique Orduño
