The Chronicle:

Letter from the Castillan Admiralty to Constanza Aldana y Orduño, Octavus 1668

To Doña Constanza Aldana y Orduño, Master and Commander of His Majesty’s Privateer Maris Stella.

You are hereby requested and required to proceed north to the Trade Sea for the purpose of harrying trade between the Vendel League and the nation of Montaigne.  You are given leave to board and inspect any vessels flying the Vendel, Eisen, or Montaigne flag for purposes of determining whether their cargo represents material support to the Montaigne war effort against Castille.  Such vessels and their cargo are subject to seizure and/or destruction at your discretion.

You are further requested and required to harass and harry river traffic along the river Roth as far inland as the city of Freiburg, and may board, inspect, seize, and destroy cargo and vessels under the same constraints mentioned above.

May Theus preserve you, your vessel, and your crew, and see you home safe and victorious against our enemies.

By the Will of Theus and For the Good of Castille!

Padre Francisco de Antigua (for the Councilio de la Razon)
