Whereas, by the
Commission of His Majesty, the Concilio de la Razon, and the Council of
Cardinals; with the blessing of Theus and sustained by the prayers of the
people of Castille, the Office of the Admiralty of the Castillan Navy are
requested and required to issue forth letters of Marque and Reprisal to
any of those subjects loyal to both Church and Crown who are deemed qualified
and fit for the duty of pursuing, apprehending, seizing, and taking the
ships, vessels, and goods of those deemed to be enemies of the Vaticine
Church and the nation of Castille or of any persons whom the bearer of
this document adjudges to be enemies of the Vaticine Church and the nation
of Castille; and that these persons shall be brought to Justice under the
eye of Theus within the courts of Castille, or if such order cannot be
carried out, due to adverse circumstances, with due swiftness, that the
bearer of this document shall render judgement within the jurisdiction
of the law, in the Name of the King, the Church, and almighty Theus, according
to the Laws of Admiralty and the Laws of Nations.
This document transfers these powers to the bearer
of this document – Constanza Esmeralda Mirian Aldana
y Orduño de Altamira de Soldano – Master and Commander
of the vessel Maris Stella . This
vessel shall be mounted with guns and cannons such as the Admiralty deems
fit and shall defend the ports, cities, and people of Castille. She
shall capture any Goods, and Belonging held by pirates, buccaneers, and
criminals and shall return them to the shores of Castille; those ships
which do not fly the flag of Castille and which are deemed to seek the
downfall and discomfort of His Majesty, the Concilio de la Razon, or the
Vaticine Church are, under the Laws of Admiralty, guilty of treason against
the nation of Castille, and heresy against Theus, and shall be treated
accordingly as prescribed by the bearer of this document. Any man
or woman who serves the bearer of this document shall receive such Commission
as the bearer of the document sees fit, to be confirmed as appropriate
by the Admiralty.
All those who consider themselves to be friends of
His Majesty, the Most Holy Vaticine Church, and the nation of Castille
to recognize the bearer of this document and all who serve with that person
aboard as official representatives of His Majesty, the Concilio de la Razon,
the Council of Cardinals, and the Holy Vaticine Church, and to afford every
favour, courtesy, accommodation, and service with the understanding that
they will receive like treatment in return for their inconvenience.
The bearer of this document shall keep an official
Journal of Proceedings and document all Prizes taken, the time and place
of capture of all such Prizes, the value of such Prizes, and the nation,
if any, from which the Prize was taken. This Journal of Proceedings
shall be presented for scrutiny by the Admiralty upon request.
This letter of Marque and Reprisal shall expire exactly
365 days from its date of issue.
