Dangling Plots Lines in the Campaign
This is a list of some open long-term plot threads still dangling.
Major plots are those that have the potential to affect a large part of Théah,
and are not driven directly by the heroes; minor ones revolve around our heroes.
Of necessity, this list is incomplete and possibly partly erroneous.
After all, if we had figured it all out, we would now rule Théah!
This page is under construction (I mean, more than the other pages).
I also added a list of our favourite enemies, lest our heroes forget to
watch their backs.
Major Plots
- The Montaigne archbishops in hiding can't elect a new cardinal, thus
leaving the Council of Cardinals incomplete and unable to elect a new Hierophant
- The Inquisition has been hiding a school of Blood Sorcerers and is now a secret organization.
- Why did Cardinal Teglionni try to assassinate then-Prince Sandoval?
Why did he leave that cross near the window? Is his attempt directly
related to the murder of Old King Salvador, or were there several murderers? Did he work for the Inquisition?
- The Thalusai have promised to return. We know they included at least A Ferdinand-double, General Alzais Bisset du Verre, and probably General François Etalon du Toille.
- Why were all the heroes born on the same date? What's the connection?
(May also be a minor plot, not sure if there's a grand scheme over our heads.)
- The Eisen waisen seem to be more than just shell-shocked, traumatized war victims. No one can find a cure, or even understand what ails them, but they seem to communicate on some level (e.g., location of food).
- What is the situation now in Montaigne after the rebellion? What became of the Empereur and other important people?
- Is Porté sorcery completely broken, or will it work again? Did it stop working everywhere, or only in Montaigne?
- For folks that are supposed to be long gone, the Syrneth seem to get
around a lot. The coming of the Fourth Prophet and the end of the world are near, or so some say... Melisandre's visions and the warning she received from the Oracle suggest that the End of the World involves the Syrneth.
- What became of Meryth after her confrontation with Queen Elaine?
- Melisandre's father owned the ship that would later be used by Captain
Robert de Méchant and become the Black Freighter.
- Cabora has risen and the Barrier is down. The Mumblety Pegs are free.
- Who were King Sandoval's assassins working for? Could he still be alive after all?
- Will Javier and Melisandre/Sara be able to have their marriage annulled?
- Ruin ("Herje") told Constanza that Javier would die before the year was out.
- What happened to Alesio after she left the Brotherhood?
- Ernesto Castillus still plans on claiming the throne of Castille. Meanwhile, Gallegos Province is seceding...

Minor Plots
- Will Miranda ever emerge from her coma?
- Constanza has yet to retrieve the Bonita's treasure, stolen
by Reis. Lucius Malveck later stole the journal with the clues to the treasure.
- What became of doña Rosa, Juan's sister? When last they spoke (in bitter terms) she announced her intention to travel to Vodacce. And where did Rosa get her Syrneth artefact from?
- Who is that old Vodacci monk who killed Juan's mother and why did he do it?
- In the new, altered version of events, Constanza apparently used a mysterious hook to replace Vincente's hand, lopped off in the Dauphin boarding action. What the hell is this thing anyway? Why does it have its own picture in the book and why does the GM drop hints about the thing?
- Lucas had a duel scheduled with the captain of the corsair that plagued
the Trade River (Juan's cousin) for Quartus 1669, but missed it.
- Why was doña Salvadora so angry with Lucas for letting don Marcus
Ontivarès de Ochoa go free? And where had don Marcus been since
his "death" during the invasion of Barcino?
- Constanza wishes to establish some trade between Castille and the königreich of Wische, and promised to return to Wische with some cargo.
- Constanza announced before witnesses that she was taking the young Vendel
sailor Otto into her family, in order to save him from death at the Vestenmannavnjar Raiders' hands. He is now thrall to Bosun Hoskuld Hardrada.
- Gerald Höhne jumped overboard while the Maris Stella was crossing the Seventh Sea. Don't tell me he won't reappear.
- Lucas received two phials from Cleo Bellini, which he should give to a contact of hers.
- Don Alvaro Arciniega has asked Constanza to perform some research for him.
- Elena and Ramone were scheming in Paix and promised to tell Constanza the full story.
- Will the Queen of the Sea return the Santa Cruz and Constanza's father?
