Cathay is a legendary land, reputed to be protected by walls of fire, and poorly known by the inhabitants of Théah. Even at sea, it is said that the coast of Cathay can only be reached by taking ships through a maze of fiery walls called the Corridors of Flame. Yet some trade is known to take place through the Ussuran border city of Breslau.
