Maps of Théah:
Castille
(Clickable map) This map file was obtained from the Temple
of the Rose + Cross site, by kind permission of Mark Woodward (a.k.a.
Sir Marcus Saint-Claire, Senior Knight of the Rose + Cross). The
R + C site has other very nice maps such as the historical maps of Theah,
and a lot of other interesting materials. Very nicely designed too,
I'm envious.
Red lines indicate major trade roads. Red dots indicate cities
visited during the campaign. The sites of interest are listed below.
-
Information on Castille
-
Altamira: Doña Constanza's
city of origin, although she now lives near San Cristobal.
-
Avila: Don Juan's city of origin. At his last visit there
in Corantine 1668, he discovered his mother had been murdered.
-
Barcino: The heroes have been through
this Montaigne-occupied city a couple of times, most prominently for an
important adventure that spread from the month of Quintus 1668 through
the middle of Julius of the same year.
-
Caballos Nuevos: Small village just north of the Montaigne front
line in southern Zepeda; it was well known before the war for its horse
trading market. The heroes rescued Ramon there.
-
Ciudad Vaticine: The heroes went
before the Council of Cardinals, where they were thanked for their valorous
actions. Some also studied there at La Ciencia university.
-
El Moro: The fortress where the Montaigne invasion was stopped.
Doña Melisandre worked there as a chirurgeon for the war wounded.
-
Malaca: A small port with a brisk business
of smuggling, where Constanza recently intercepted the Dauphin and
its cargo of Syrneth artefacts.
-
La Camara del Fuego Sagrado: Deep in La Sierra de Hierro, the Chamber
of the Holy Flame where Miranda was thrown to be burned by the Inquisition.
-
La Palabra de Dios: Site of the infamous
prison of La Bucca in La Boca de Cielo, from which Allende and his original
buccaneers escaped. Now reputed taken over by the Brotherhood of
the Coast.
- La Pasiega: Important port on the gulf at the mouth of the Rio de Delia. Home of the College of Naval Engineering and the main shipyards of the Orduño family. The frigate Osprey, Constanza's second vessel, was built there.
-
La Reina del Mar: Ferdinand's city of origin. The heroes had
the opportunity to strike a blow against the Montaigne invaders there in
Secundus 1669, severely damaging the port installations.
-
La Selva de Fendes: The dark and ominous "Forest of Fiends" covering the northern part of Castille from Altamira to the Rio de Delia. Reputed haunted, a reputation which the heroes will not dispute after crossing the forest to reach Montaigne in late Sextus-early Julius 1669.
-
La Sierra de Hierro: The heroes fought the Inquisition in the Sierra in Quartus 1668, then tracked and fought the bandit El Víboro there in Corantine of the same year. The Inquisition had many strongholds and hideouts in the Sierra, and the heroes unearthed one of the last ones in Octavus 1674.
-
Tarago: Home of the Orduño family and the bulk of the Castillian
navy. By order of the Admiralty and Admiral Enrique Orduño, the
Maris
Stella was sent there in Secundus 1669 to be refitted.
-
La Ultima Muralla: The southmost front line between Castillan forces
and Montaigne invading armies in Zepeda. The heroes fought there
and protected the King.
-
San Augustin: The heroes consulted with the cartography department
during the Arrow of Heaven segment of the story, looking for professor
Miguel Olivarez.
-
San Cristobal: Capital of Castille;
the heroes visit the capital relatively frequently.
- San Teodoro: The western-most city on la Boca de Cielo, it was once a minor port but then served to supply the entire war effort in Castillian-held Zepeda. Nearest city of importance from the (dubious) estate of Don Tobias de Ramirez, Melisandre's father.
-
Villa de los Gordos: Small coastal village just south of the Montaigne
lines in Zepeda, and about thirty miles north of San Augustin. The
heroes cleared the area of bandits after their boat crashed on the reefs.
