Sarina is Melisandre's twin sister, but the although the physical resemblance between the two of them is near perfect, they are morally very dissimilar. Sarina is greedy, conniving, self-centered, and hedonistic. Still, she has been known on rare occasions to let her heart get the best of her, particularly in Charouse in Julius 1669, when she risked her neck and her plans to help a Montaigne soldier, Jerome. Sarina apparently grew up poor, scrabbling for a living, and is very resentful of Melisandre, even though the latter did not know of her existence for may years. Sarina has shown herself willing to sell Melisandre, first to Jacques Lévesque d'Aur and later to Don Francisco de Grijalva, and impersonate her. |
