Good King Sandoval, the young king of Castille, is only 18. Bullied by the Concilio de la Razon, denied the title of High King (Castillorum Rex), but still trying to be the best possible king for Castille, he may yet be a great ruler if he survives long enough. The heroes have foiled two assassination attempts against him, in thanks for which he secretly gave them the insignia of his elite guards, the King's Men. The King's Men were officially disbanded by the Concilio de la Razon while it assumed regency during Old King Salvador's illness.
He was reported killed in early Sextus 1669 during an attack by Montaigne hard-liners, striking at the peace negotiations. The attack was led by a force using Porté, El Fuego Adentro, and Laerdom sorcery. However, the heroes have painstakingly ammassed indications and more recently firm proof, thanks to Juan, that King Sandoval was not killed but spirited away by the Inquisition.
