| A giant spider hides on the beach of Treasure
Reef. It's not known whether this was a unique specimen or whether
a whole species of giant sand spiders is crawling around on the beaches
of Théah. It's also anyone's guess what it eats when there
are no heroes around. This spider is twelve foot tall, wide in proportion,
and moves very fast. It hides in the coral reef and sand, then pounces
like a spring-wound toy.
The heroes fought the sandbar spider in the adventure of The Bonita's
Treasure. They were losing too, until don Juan decided, as a
last resort, to put on the strange Syrneth gauntlet they had found on Claw
Island. The gauntlet increased his strength, but he then discovered
the artefact could no longer be removed.
