| Queen Nyathera was, like all rulers of Bashar'ka, chosen
as the most powerful among the high priests who dominate this theocracy. Her
command of fire is not unlike that of practioners of El Fuego Adentro, although
it is highly religious in nature. The queen has an open feud with King Kwabena Nkansah of Boroko, claiming that he is the father of the child she recently gave birth to. She demands that her son be given the title of heir to the kingdom of Boroko.(Note that rulership of Bashar'ka, on the other hand, is not hereditary, and rulership of Boroko only nominally so.) Tension has been running high between the two countries, but the great distance that separates them makes war a logistic nightmare, so no action has been taken to date. |
