Yet the Black Freighter and her Legion-damned captain have now returned to hunt Gosse down as soon as he left Utopia. He has gained control of an ancient Vesten relic, the Spear of the West Wind, which grants him power over the weather, control of the dead, and the ability to sea all over the ocean. He sent both storms and ranks of undead to harass Philip Gosse and the heroes who were helping him, and ambushed the Unchartered Course in a devastating attack. He abducted Melinda Gosse, Philip Gosse's daughter and when Gosse and the heroes came to rescue her, blinded her.
