Marcus Ontivares y Ochoa de Torres

Hero or Traitor?

Marcus Ontivarès de Ochoa de Torres is the twin brother of the first Montaigne-backed puppet governor of Torres, don Marcao Ontivarès de Ochoa.  He was believed to have died in the invasion of Barcino from a fall from a tower, after trying to stop his brother from betraying the city to the invaders.

However, he was seen in late 1668 in Freiburg.  Lucas caught him but turned him over to the Montaignes, earning doña Salvadora Veronica Lopez Rodriguez de Ochoa's anger and public berating.  In Decimus 1668, he was installed as the replacement governor, and the Montaignes announced that don Marcao and doña Salvadora had been executed.

Don Marcus is much more charismatic than his twin and beloved of the people of Barcino.  He has managed to keep a certain measure of true power from the Montaigne authorities and has reduced taxes by ten percent since his accession to power.  He makes frequent appearances to speak to the people and cultivate their love and trust.

He looks almost exactly like don Marcao, but the injuries encurred during the fall of Barcino have left his limbs looking thin and fragile, and he walks with the aid of two canes.
