The absolute monarch of Montaigne, reputed to be a powerful Porté sorcerer, a crazed megalomaniac, and a paranoid madman. He was responsible for the open practice of sorcery in Montaigne, and it is believed that the death of the Hierophant while visiting him was a murder, although it was ascribed to the White Plague.
The heroes met him with something less than complete enthusiasm in Julius 1669 when they were manoeuvred into visiting by General François Etalon du Toille and Baron Rémy de Montaigne. They had an unnerving breakfast as his guests, looking on as a rebellion was sparked by his unpopularity.
Empereur was reported killed in the riots that followed over the next few days, although this has not yet been confirmed.
