Constanza met him when she agreed to join forces with the Revensj to attack a Montaigne-Vendel convoy. When she announced her intention to fight him on behalf of a young Vendel sailor who was going to be put to death, Hardrada reluctantly convinced the council (the Thing) to commute the sentence to thralldom.
