The youngest Eisenfürst in Eisen at nineteen, Stefan von Heilgründ is an avid collector of antiques and particularly of Syrneth artefacts. He has acted as Reginald Coleson's patron in the past.
The heroes met the Eisenfürst when they were his guests in Heigründstadt. Unfortunately, Richard "Ricardo" O'Bannon chose this time to act extremely strangely, thereby alienating the Eisenfürst. They later mended matters by assisting him in a problem involving kobolds.
Finally, they met him again when he assisted Fauner Pösen in her campaign to seize Freiburg, when he hoped to make a grab for the dracheneisen mine he knew was hidden under Drachenheim Manse. In exchange for half the dracheneisen production of the mine, he agreed to withdraw his support and leave with his troops but refused to actively oppose Eisenfürst Pösen.
