Miss Connie MacDonald is actually the leader of Clan MacEachern. The clan was destroyed by the Sidhe because it had discovered the secret of working cold iron to make weapons. A few MacEacherns secretly survived, however, and kept the secret -- and the clan -- alive. Connie Mac Donald is an older woman, leading a simple life on the moors of the Highlands.
The heroes met Connie MacDonald when they took refuge at her cottage in Septimus 1669. They were in the Highlands to seek the Lucas Changeling, but then discovered to their surprise that the Mac Eachern had struck a deal with Meryth and the Changeling to return the Grail to Bryn Bresail and close the gates between the two worlds forever. The heroes tried to convince Miss MacDonald that this deal was not to be trusted and that the clan was being manipulated, but not until the remnants of the clan were massacred by Thalusai.
