The heroes had the pleasure of visiting the island during the Scoundrel's
Folly adventure although they spent more effort staying away from The
Beast than trying to fight it. No doubt this helped with their continued
survival.
| La Bête ("the Beast") is the centrepiece creature on the monster-infested
Ile de la Bête, a small island heavily garded and used as a hunting
preserve by Montaigne nobles. Having discovered the existence of
a Syrneth site complete with protective force fields, the Montaigne have
been transporting various dangerous creatures to the island via Porté
sorcery, rendering the already feral creatures completely insane in the
process. Rich and decadent nobles can then have their sport hunting
the beasts, while remaining protected at night by the force fields.
La Bête is the most terrifying and the largest of these creatures.
