Don Alvaro Arciniega is a famous Castillan nobleman, academician, scientist, pamphletist, and swordsman. He founded La Universidad de Arciniega in Altamira and he has taught classes at many other universities. He has made many enemies with his uncompromising attitude, and is wanted by the Inquisition. A skilled swordsman, he skewered the last few Inquisitors who tried to arrest him.
The heroes first met him when they took some of his classes with varying degrees of success, then ran into him again during the Arrow of Heaven and El Fuego Sagrado adventures. More recently (Sextus 1669), he wrote to Constanza to ask her to pursue some research on his behalf.
